Assistant Manager – UNISERVE Facilities Services – Los Angeles

This position is in West Los Angeles and the work hours are M-F.  The office is located on a client property which consist of Class “A” Office Space, Museums, large public areas and multiple buildings.

This position will oversee 80 hourly cleaners and day porters

This position will assist the on-site Custodial Director of Operations  with the following:

  • Respond to worksite maintenance requests as needed in order to maintain a safe and functional work site
  • Order and manage cleaning supplies and all office related supplies, including furniture
  • Clean and organize corporate common areas including copy centers, shipping and mailing areas
  • Manage 50 direct report who provides cleaning services during business hours
  • Maintain relationships with outside vendors including contractors and suppliers
  • Ensure all vendors provide the necessary level of service and recommend changes where appropriate
  • Ensure crew cleaning service meets company standards
  • Receive approvals for expenses and coordinate purchase orders with the Finance department
  • Oversee Records and Storage Management; coordinate with respective departments
  • Responsible for workplace safety initiatives and business continuity planning; should identify risks and potential work hazards
  • Conduct routine building inspections/walk-throughs and take corrective action as needed
  • Special projects as needed

Salary Range:  $41K-45K with benefits

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Must have five (5) years custodial work experience.
  • Must have at least one (1) year supervisory and/or management experience
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be highly organized.
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Solid Project Management skills
  • Display good judgment and a team-player attitude
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency while responding to requests and accomplishing tasks
  • Be patient, proactive, open to learning new things and able to suggest creative solutions
  • Must be bi-lingual
  • Must have a high school degree or equivalent
