Making BCP a Way of Life at Your Company

This case study outlines the four-year journey of the SCAN Health Plan facility team, and how they not only made business continuity a part of the DNA of their company, but also increased the team’s credibility; broke down silos among business units and the local community; improved the company’s attitude toward BCP; and increased the company’s confidence in dealing with crisis. Hear how the SCAN team pulled all the pieces of the business continuity puzzle together into a corporate-wide program and fixed the gaps in their business continuity plan

Diane Coles Levine, MCR

Diane is the Director of Workplace Solutions at SCAN Health Plan in Long Beach, California.  She spearheaded an innovative workplace strategy called the AWESOME project and won the 2009 IFMA George Graves Facility Management Achievement Award, the 2009 CoreNet Southern California Remmy for “Workplace Innovation” and was named  a Southern California Real Estate Journal “Woman of Influence.’

Diane is a guest lecturer at MIT Professional Education, Vienna University of Technology, and a speaker at international conferences.  She is the creator, editor, and co-author of the award-winning book “Work on the Move: Driving Strategy and Change in Workplaces.”  Diane is an organizer of the 2012 Workplace Strategy Summit at Cornell University and the 2014 Summit in England in June.    She is one of the founders of the IFMA CREC Workplace Evolutionaries (WE) group.  Diane is co-author of “Cut it Out: Save for Today, Build for Tomorrow” and a contributing author to Facility Management Journal (FMJ).

Diane is the IFMA Foundation 1st Vice Chair, IFMA CREC Treasurer and past president of the IFMA Orange County chapter.   Diane holds a  Masters in Corporate Real Estate (MCR) designation from CoreNet and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management BSBM, University of Redlands.
