Manager, Facilities Operations (Disney)

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Infrastructure services. The position will provide management and overall direction for the facility operations at The Burbank Studios. The manager will direct on-lot trades and third party providers in order to provide a safe, clean, professional and effective workspace for multiple clients while adhering to company policies and procedures and maintaining a high level of customer service.


  • Manage and direct the daily activities of the studio on-lot trade shops: Electrical/HVAC, Maintenance, Plumbing, Carpentry and Paint.
  • Manage multiple third party service contracts.
  • Provide outstanding, continual customer service to the many clients served by Facility Services and Support.
  • Manage safety of shops and workplace. Work with the safety department to implement and uphold safe work practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Manage the operational budget for the shops so that they stay at target; work with the shop leads to ensure proper time card and charge back procedures are followed.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and policies that ensure a safe, professional and cost effective environment.
  • Organize and maintain facility infrastructure drawings, as builds and other records.
  • Develop, in conjunction with the Senior Manager, Infrastructure an annual operations budget and an annual capital maintenance budget; these budgets should coordinate with a planned life cycle and long range maintenance program.
  • Review all Infrastructure system designs for accuracy, adequacy, quality and completeness and recommend enhancements and replacements considering energy management opportunities.
  • Provide project management oversight to on-lot, large scale capital maintenance programs.
  • Work with Disney Sourcing and Procurement & Operations Finance to obtain bids, create purchase orders and maintenance contracts that adhere to company policies and procedures and achieve cost savings.
  • Work with Design and Delivery team to provide input to the planning, and overall design of the infrastructure systems.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and technical skills. Knowledge of mathematical calculations and computer applications related to technical design.
  • Exhibit knowledge of plant operations in order to specify proper equipment and develop maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in use of electronic mail applications, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and related construction documents.
  • Ability to use energy audit instrumentation or Building Automations Systems to collect data; monitor equipment status; to control and optimize operation; generate maintenance schedules and operation logs.
  • Experience with installation methods, testing, commissioning, validation and upkeep of documentation.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in directing maintenance operations in a campus environment; utilizing both union and non-union labor force.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Work Management Systems software preferred.
  • Familiarity with applicable local, state and federal regulation and codes preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills both in direct and matrix reporting situations.
  • Ability to proactively work with various project teams and individuals.
  • Ability to effectively lead and communicate with union labor force and operations management teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills.

  • College degree required in a development core discipline such as Engineering, Construction Management, or related profession.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
  • AutoCAD (a plus).
