Important Announcement for IFMA Chapter Leaders: Holmes Transition

Last year, IFMA entered an unprecedented collaboration with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). As part of the collaboration’s future vision for a one-stop-shop for FM professional development needs, IFMA credential training will be transitioning from the Holmes Corporation-hosted platform to the new RICS-hosted online academy platform ( on April 1, 2017.

Holmes Corporation has delivered seven years of quality customer service and support for the FMP® Learning System, SFP® Learning System and the Facility Management Learning System™. Holmes will remain a partner with IFMA through March 31, 2017, and will continue to deliver the quality of customer service and support for these IFMA programs that you are used to receiving.

Launched last month, the platform is already a fantastic resource for continuing education, and we look forward to adding credential training beginning in April so that all FM learning is housed in one place.

The IFMA and RICS teams are working to ensure a seamless and transparent transition for all credential holders and candidates, chapters, training providers and corporate partners. This includes engaging contacts within the chapters, universities, training affiliates and corporate partners for feedback on opportunities to improve the process. IFMA will host an informal town hall webinar about the transition on Jan. 24, 2017 from 2:30-3 p.m. CST.

As we begin our transition phase, IFMA would like to retain the existing education license agreement with your chapter. Therefore, we will reissue a formal agreement under which San Fernando Valley (Burbank) Chapter (CA5) will have a license from IFMA to actively market, promote and operate IFMA education courses pursuant to agreed-upon terms. We invite you to join us at the town hall webinar for more information on this process.
